Why is U-Haul giving me more days in my one-way rental than I need? Safety is our number one concern. Our goal is to provide our one-way customers with ample time to complete their move safely.

There's nothing to fear, really. Indeed, out on the open highway, it's not a difficult vehicle to drive. It accelerates far more briskly when in high gear than one would expect from something so loaded down. It's no drag racer, but it's no cruise ship either.

Yes, all trucks traveling along state maintained highways are expected to stop at every Weigh Station and Agricultural Inspection Station along the way to their destination.

Equipment scheduling is based on available time frames ranging from one hour up to a 24-hour rental period. Some locations do, however, offer multiple day In-Town rentals on our trailer fleet. Check with your local U-Haul center or independent dealer for exact regulations.

As a customer, you receive an allowed mileage and a set number of days to complete your move. Allowed days and mileage are calculated to allow you to complete the move with no extra charges. Unused days or mileage are not refunded. Additional days and additional miles are charged at the pre-agreed rate on the contract.

The length of time fuel will remain useable in your gas tank is dependent on the fuel type. Regular gasoline has a shelf life of three to six months, premium or high-octane fuel should last close to nine months, while diesel can last up to a year before it begins to degrade.

Why is there a hold on my credit card and why does it take 3-5 business days to be removed? This "hold" amount will be released within 3-5 business days, depending on your financial institution. You may check with your credit card institution regarding how long it will take them to release the "hold" on your funds.

If you're trying to avoid the weigh stations, you can either take an alternate route or wait until the weigh station closes. Weigh station apps will be incredibly helpful no matter which method you choose, as they'll tell you where the weigh stations are located as well as when they're open or closed.

The cost to rent a moving truck for one-way moves depends on the truck size, pickup location, destination, and move date. U-Haul prices often work out to about $0.90–$1.00 per mile, but you might pay more in cities with a higher cost of living. You may also pay a higher rate for Friday and Saturday rentals.
