2023 Saratoga Fall Festival

Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association will host the annual Saratoga Fall Festival for Oct. 21 from Noon – 3 p.m. Trick-or-There will be treating throughout downtown, pumpkin rolling on Caroline St., live entertainment, face painting, balloon artists, and more.

HAUNTED HOUSE

The Fraternal Order of Eagles #2486’s Annual Haunted House is back on Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28 from 6 – 10 p.m. at 80 Main St., South Glens Falls. Admission is free but donations are encouraged to help local charities and families in need. Bring your friends and family for a scary good time!

HALLOWEEN SKATE

Presented by the Saratoga Springs Recreation Department on Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Saratoga Springs Ice Rink, 30 Weibel Ave., Saratoga Springs. Family Skate 3 – 4:45 p.m. Open Public 5 – 7 p.m. City resident with drop in rec card $4, all others $5. The first 50 paid admissions at each session who wear something Halloween themed will receive one admission ticket to an upcoming family skate or open public session.

OWLOWEEN AT OWL PEN BOOKS

On Saturday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m., Owl Pen Books will host Owloween, an event celebrating their last weekend of the season with ghost stories and spooky readings from four award-winning literary horror writers, Glen Hirshberg, John Langan, Julia Rust, and David Surface. The authors will share original stories and be available for a Q&A and signings afterward. Cider, donuts, and wine will be served. 5TH ANNUAL SARATOGA
YMCA TRUNK OR TREAT

Saturday, Oct. 21, 1 – 3 p.m. at Saratoga Regional YMCA, 290 West Ave., Saratoga Springs. Get dressed up in your Halloween best and come enjoy some family-fun at our 5th Annual Trunk or Treat family event. Members of the community, businesses, YMCA staff along with local police and fire will decorate their cars for a safe and accessible trick or treat experience for everyone. Free & open to the public! Decorate your trunk and bring candy to share with all of our families who’ll be trunk or treating (families decorating their trunk are asked to provide their own candy). STILLWATER FALL FESTIVAL

Saturday, Oct. 28, Noon – 4 p.m. Various locations in Stillwater. Held the last Saturday of October from 12 to 4 p.m. in the Village of Stillwater since 2012! Local nonprofits join together to give families a chance to walk through the Village while trick-or-treating and playing games for free! There will be “Trunk-or-Treat” at the Stillwater Community Center, a scavenger hunt sponsored by the Stillwater Police Department, a sensationally spooky Haunted House hosted at the Stillwater Fire Department, and a whole bunch of fun things to do all along Hudson Avenue. Food concessions will be available for a small fee at select locations. Come join us for a nice day in costume that is close to home, and won’t break the bank!

HALLOWEEN FUN-RAISER

Sunday, Oct. 29, 3 – 5 p.m. at the Children’s Museum at Saratoga, 65 S. Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Put on your costume and come to The Museum for Halloween-themed fun and activities! Tickets on sale now. Members of the museum can grab their tickets for $15, while non-members can join in on the fun for just $17.

Saratoga Book Festival 🙂

Various Location City-Wide

The third annual Friends’ Saratoga Book Festival will run through October 15, bringing together more than 60 talented authors from near and far for a celebration of reading. The multi-day festival features big-stage presentations, intimate conversations, engaging workshops, a Literary Marketplace, Local Author Showcase, KidZone, and more. The main festival day is Saturday, October 14. All events are free except when noted. The Saratoga Book Festival is the marquee community event of the Friends of the Saratoga Springs Public Library, a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to raise funds and provide support for library programs and services. Drive-Up Voter Registration

This is an opportunity for people to pick up and complete a NYS voter registration form, in sufficient time that they can vote at the early voting sites or on Election Day. Members of the public can drive, walk, or bike into the event.

Saratoga Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will commemorate the anniversary at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs at the Hiker Monument, and soldier’s graves along with a wreath laying at Reubena Hyde Walworth Obelisk. Reubena, daughter of DAR founder Ellen Hardin Walworth, died as a nurse during the war and was a member of the DAR Nurses Corp, which is 125 years old. All are welcome. Free. Bike tour of Saratoga Spa State Park 🙂

Meet at 99 South Broadway, SPAC School of the Arts

10 a.m. | Join the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation to tour along the old roads, carriage paths, and trolley lines to explore the progressive story of National Historic Landmark Saratoga Spa State Park. This 2.5-hour bike tour covers approximately 5 miles of the 2,500-acre park. Guests on the tour do not need to be experienced bikers but are required to bring their own bikes or rent a bike prior to arrival. Tickets are $20 for SSPF Members and $25 for non-members and space is limited to twenty. Complimentary tour passes can’t be used for this bike tour. Meet and End at Brookside Museum, 21 Fairground Ave., Ballston Spa. 10 – 11:30 a.m. Explore oft-forgotten details of a community’s history on this interactive tour with SCHC Director of Education, Anne Clothier. All ages are welcome to join us as we explore the history of Ballston Spa’s industries, hotels, schools, mineral springs, and more. The tour is approximately 1.25 miles. Guided Trolley Tours 🙂

Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center, 297 Broadway, Saratoga Springs | 10 a.m.

A 90-minute guided tour of beautiful, historic Saratoga Springs. Tours will run through Aug. 31, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Tickets are $25 per person. For advanced reservations, call 518-587-3241. Day of tickets, based on availability, can be purchased at the Visitor Center. No refunds for reservations cancelled less than 48 hours prior to start of tour. Cancellations can be made by phone or email at karen@discoversaratoga.org.

10:30 a.m. – Noon | Saratoga Springs was a playground of the rich and famous during the 1800s. This summer, visitors and residents alike can experience stories of the Spa City in the Gilded Age on a newly updated 90-minute guided walking tour presented by the Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center and the Saratoga Springs History Museum. Led by experienced, knowledgeable guides, this tour takes participants from the historic Visitor Center through Congress Park and concludes with a full tour of the elegant 19th-century Canfield Casino. Tuesdays – Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., $20. Tours run rain or shine. For reservations, call 518-587-3241.

Special Events – Elizabeth Huntley, Harpist 🙂

Saratoga National Historical Park Visitor Center, 648 Rte 32, Stillwater | Noon

Elizabeth Huntley is one of the Capital District/Saratoga/ Lake George Region’s busiest musicians, showcasing the harp’s versatility by performing a wide variety of music. Ms. Huntley has played for the Irish Tenors, Garrison Keillor, Josh Groban, Bobby Vinton, Barry Manilow, Melissa Manchester, Johnny Mathis, Manhattan Transfer, and Roger Daltrey. She is the principal harpist with the Glens Falls Symphony and has played with the Skidmore College Orchestra, along with orchestras and opera companies from here to Boston to New York and places in between.

Saratoga Summer Concert Series 🙂

War Memorial in Congress Park, Saratoga Springs | 7 p.m. The Saratoga Summer Concert Series will take place Tuesdays in August. Each concert will be approximately 90 minutes. Rain Location: Inside the Heritage Area Visitor Center, located at 297 Broadway, Saratoga Springs. This week’s performer Garland Nelson and Soul Session – A well-known (and loved) Saratoga staple. Make sure you bring your dancing shoes! Sponsored by Spa City Motor Lodge.

Concert on the Lawn: Amy Powers 🙂

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us for an evening of music on the Library’s Back Lawn featuring Amy Powers, a musician and songwriter from Upstate New York who covers a variety of genres from pop to folk. Some of her influences in music include Sara Bareilles, Brasstracks, and Baerd. In the event of rain, this program will be moved indoors.

Summer Concert Series 🙂

Gavin Park, 10 Lewis Dr., Saratoga Springs | 7 – 9 p.m. The Town of Wilton is proud to present its inaugural summer concert series. All concerts will be held at the large pavilion. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy free, live music with your neighbors and friends! This week’s featured band – Skippy and the Pistons.
